IMG_0255 Friday night Beginner Throwing Class.

Start from the very beginning with Christie Cooper.  We will work on how to throw pottery  on the potters wheel and hand-build with coils and slabs of clay.  We will learn how to center the clay, make cups and bowls.  The class includes 25lbs of clay, one free firing and the use of the studio glazes.  Come down and get your hands dirty.

This class will concentrate on developing hand-built teapots.  The instructor will teach soft-slab, hard-slap, and coil-building techniques in order to create our teapots. There is no skill-set required so if you are new or just want to learn some new techniques this class will be a lot of fun.
In the Pots with Parts class we will start making pots with lids, cups with handles vessels with spouts, and finish up with a teapot combing all three parts.  We will talk about how to incorporate each part into the body of the piece for a seamless design and function.  Come with a sense of adventure and a smile.
Come explore new ways to use the potters wheel. In this class we learn alternative processes on the wheel as well as learning to combine hand-built elements with thrown forms. We will learn hand-building, throwing and glazing techniques. All skill levels are welcome. This class runs for six weeks.
